Pain lanced through Midna's small body as she clung to the powerful wolf under her. A sense of helplessness and a dull acceptance rested on her weary shoulders as she buried her tiny fingers in the soft fur under her and pressed her face into Link's mane.
The beast 'neath her rushed as fast as he could to the castle. She had just reached a state of balance upon his back when a flaming arrow struck her selfless bearer. The strike sent her flying off of his back as he shook off the arrow and charged at the offending archer. Midna lay on her side as the rain pelted her, watching as Link, perhaps slightly more upset at the strike than normal, easily dispatched the Bulbin, then darted quickly back to her. He didn't seem to know how to get her back on top of him, and so with concerned filled blue eyes wrapped himself around her. The cold, aloof armor Midna wrapped herself up in began to break as she buried her fingers in his fur and managed to get herself up to her knees. Link pulled himself around her, as if hiding her from harm. _____________ EDIT: Is Link too green? By the way, if you're looking at fanart, I'm assuming you've finished the game or don't care about spoilers. Don't come crying to me complaining I spoiled the game for you. Excuse the short snippet of story. Sometimes I like to surround my fanart pictures with a fair amount of backstory, though even without the little snippet, it's fairly obvious what's happened. Honestly, I don't understand how she kept balanced on Link after being so injured. I can imagine she'd have fallen off a few times, especially when I was kicked around, hit, beaten, bitten, and thrown out of bars. In any case, this was its own experiment in posing, and I like how it turned out. I know I got Midna's helmet thing off. And she's a little too big. Whatever. And her markings are off too.
